Beretta Team Shooter, Anthony Matarese is crowned High Gun at the 2016 World English Sporting Championships, E.J. Churchill Shooting Grounds

Matarese shooting his Beretta DT-11 posted a tremendous score of 190/200 besting all 1,235 competitors.  As required by the rules, the top 6 competitors must engage in a shoot-off to secure the Championship.

Against some of the best shooters in the world, Matarese maintained his lead through the shoot-off making him the first (1st) American shooter to ever claim the Gold Medal at the World English Sporting Championships.

Anthony Matarese is a long time Beretta Team Member and has won nearly every Sporting title in the game. His passion for the sport makes him true champion in every aspect.
Team Beretta amassed a total of six (6) podium finishes while at the World Championships.  

“This has really been a great event for our Beretta team shooters. We are proud of all of them and of course we’re looking forward to following them through the remainder of the season,” remarked Ryan Muety, V.P. Sales and Marketing Beretta U.S.A.

Desi Edmunds (Beretta DT-11) was very strong in the Ladies division bringing home (2) gold medals in Sport Trap and Preliminary Events, silver medal in FITASC Event, and bronze medal in Main Event.

Ethan Smith (Beretta 692) shot extremely well in his first time competing in the World English Championship with a bronze medal in Sport Trap Juniors Division.  

Zach Kienbaum (Beretta DT-11) posted a terrific score in Main event of 183/200 finishing 11th overall.

The Championships were held June 21-26 amidst the beautiful wooded acres of the West Wycombe Estate near London, England.
