And outperforms the competition. SV10 PREVAIL. DESIGNED TO WIN.
The SV10 Prevail integrates the newest and best performing innovations in each component. Kick-Off, Q-Stock, extraction/ejection selection system, easy-remouvable trigger group, Optima-Bore barrels and many other particular features make SV10 Prevail a complete shotgun, designed for the highest challenges.
THE PERFECT MARRIAGE OF CLASSIC AND MODERN
In a stunning new design that could only be born of 500 years of experience, combined with the very best modern technology, the SV10 is as innovative as it is classical. It begins with the design of the receiver. The eyes are drawn immediately to the sideplates that stand out from the sides in an arrow-head shape. Yet at the core of this design is Beretta’s traditional locking system with trapezoidal shoulders and double longitudinal locking lugs. The new, larger shapes of the monobloc’s locking shoulders—and their corresponding seats on the receiver—are not only better integrated into the design of the sideplates, but also improve the efficiency of the lock-up. The styling refinements continue into the shape of the stock inletting, which now moves well forward into the sides of the receiver, consolidating the rigidity of the assembly. Even the new laser engraving is in perfect harmony with the receiver’s design. The classic style of Beretta over-and-unders is highlighted by the mirror polished sideplates, while the technological advantages of the modern competition shotgun are underlined by the new, deep overturned pyramids.
ELEGANT UNDER PRESSURE
Every aspect of this revolutionary new competition over-and-under is designed to perform—beautifully. The new profile of the barrels also unifies form and function: the tubes elegantly blend with the receiver and ensure excellent strength and durability. The top moldings are gracefully modeled in harmony with the style of the receiver and simultaneously guarantee an improved field of view when sighting.
NEW BARREL DESIGN
Machined from a solid steel alloy billet, hardened and tempered, the receiver provides a low and elegant profile that allows the redirection of the recoil in-line to the shooter’s shoulder. The felt recoil is therefore reduced and the ease of shouldering increased. The high-strength alloy receiver is treated with an exclusive, nickel based, protective finish that increases its durability and resistance to the environment’s corrosive elements.
DETAILS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE: NEW TOP LEVER DESIGN
The engineering refinements that distinguish this high performance over-and-under extend all the way to the top lever. To meet the needs of the world’s top competitors, the lever was redesigned to feature a wide surface area that makes it easier and more comfortable to use in every condition.
WHERE FORM BLENDS EASILY WITH FUNCTION
New and improved, the strong trigger guard is machined from a single piece of steel and elegantly blends into the trigger plate through the use of two rounded reinforcement ridges.
MIRROR POLISHED TITANIUM TRIGGER
Found exclusively on only the most prized shotguns, the trigger of the SV10 Prevail is formed from solid, lightweight titanium. This premier material guarantees the durability and reliability of use, even in the most difficult hunting conditions. The mirror polish highlights the harmony of its shapes.
COLD HAMMER FORGED FOR UNSURPASSED PERFORMANCE
Champion shooters demand championship level performance from their shotguns. The SV10 Prevail’s new sporting Optima-Bore® HP (High Performance) profile barrels are unmatched anywhere. The exclusive process of cold hammer forging guarantees the perfect concentricity of the tubes. Alloys of the highest strength produce barrels that are both extremely strong and lightweight, allowing for optimum balance and superb control. They are beautifully finished with a corrosion-resistant, polished blueing. The bore and chamber are completely chrome lined to guarantee maximum resistance to corrosion and wear—and to increase the velocity of the shot. The Optima-Bore® HP barrel’s longer forcing cone improves patterning and helps reduce felt recoil. These new barrels are also designed to give the shooter another competitive advantage: the very best performance using either traditional lead shot or high performance steel shot.
IMPROVED PROFILE FOR TIGHTER PATTERNS
Tight shot patterns depend on the performance of the choke tubs. The new extended Beretta Optima-Choke® HP (High Performance) choke tubes get the job done superbly. Longer and slimmer, they reduce friction and improve the density and distribution of shot patterns.
LONG LASTING AND CORROSION RESISTANT
Beretta Optima-Choke® HP tubes stand up to the heat of competition. Manufactured from high strength steel and finished in a nickel-alloy coating, these chokes guarantee significant corrosion resistance and have the ability to withstand the rigors of steel shot. Optima-Choke® HP tubes are fully interchangeable on all Beretta barrels that are threaded for Optima-Choke® HP.
INNOVATION THAT PUTS THE SHOOTER IN COMPLETE CONTROL
The choice is now yours: you can automatically eject fired shells or extract them.In a new, patented extraction system debuting in the SV10 Prevail, the shooter can now easily select between automatic ejection or simple mechanical extraction. In the “environmentally friendly” mode of mechanical extraction, spent shells can easily be removed from their chambers and carried away in a hull pouch. The ejection/extraction switch is easily accessed by simply removing the fore-end.
The ease and perfection by which shells are extracted or ejected comes from the newly designed extractors that are precisely guided along the entire length of the barrel monobloc. The extractor’s large contact surface area on the rim of the shell improves both retention and reliability.
MORE REINFORCEMENT AT CRITICAL STRESS POINTS
Perhaps no part of an Over-and-Under takes the brunt force of stress more than the joint between the action and the barrel. Thanks to a significantly larger size with more support, these reinforced hinge pins offer the maximum resistance to the stress that occurs over years of shooting. Though the size has been increased, these improved hinge pins are well proportioned and are supported by a special internal reinforcement shoulder that adds years to their longevity. Because the pins are positioned as close as possible to the lower barrel axis, they flow and blend more elegantly into the receiver, while allowing it to be stronger and more compact.
LESS RECOIL AND REDUCED MUZZLE RAISE FOR IMPROVED ACCURACY
Victory often comes by the slimmest margins. Just one more clay is sometimes all that stands between a shooter and the winner’s podium. Kick-Off® technology delivers that edge by reducing recoil and muzzle rise to allow fast aiming on the second shot. One more possibility to hit one more clay than the competition and capture the prize. Innovation is the heart of Beretta’s legendary design. This new generation of over-and-under is the first to feature the new patented Kick-Off® technology in a wooden stock. Available on select models, this mechanism was conceived to significantly reduce the felt recoil to the shooter’s shoulder. Thanks to Kick-Off®, the recoil energy is gradually dissipated through two oil hydraulic dampeners integrated into the design, resulting in much better comfort for the shooter. At the same time that the vibrations and muzzle rise are decreased, the durability, reliability and handling of the firearm are enhanced.
BERETTA Q-STOCK® TECHNOLOGY
New profile Q-Stock® features an exclusive attachment system to the receiver.
EASY ACCESS TO THE REMOVABLE TRIGGER GROUP
A properly functioning trigger is critical to exceptional performance, but easy access to that key component is rarely found even in the best competition shotguns. That has all changed with the SV10 Prevail. Shooters will appreciate the easy and immediate access to all the components of the trigger group, which allows for cleaning and maintenance operations, and easily changing out the trigger. The disassembly could not be simpler. Once the stock is removed, the trigger group may then be quickly removed using the same tool used to detach the stock.
ERGONOMICS AND COMFORT
Streamlined and elegant, the new ergonomic shape of the fore-end guarantees the most advantageous and comfortable grip for the shooter—a must in the heat of competition. The reconfigured fore-end iron boasts a new design of its own, a patented internal mechanism that maintains a constant barrel-receiver-iron fit. This innovative system not only improves the strength of the locking system, but the overall service life of the gun.
ELONGATED “AUGET” FOR A SMOOTH RELEASE
With its elongated shape, the new fore-end lever ensures the smooth release of the fore-end from the barrel and adds yet another touch of elegance to a truly refined shotgun.
PRECISE AND SECURE OPERATION
Meticulously redesigned with attention to the smallest detail, the new safety/selector assembly offers a better grip and improved ergonomics. The design ensures a smooth, precise and secure operation—and a constant engagement force. The selector (where present) is integrated into the lever and snaps precisely into one position or the other, avoiding the annoyance of being in a non-firing ‘neutral’ position and compromising the shot.
The manual safety is located on the receiver tang, over the stock grip. Depending on the model, the manual safety also features an integral barrel selector. When the safety is fully retracted the letter S is visible and the safety is engaged. When the safety is fully pushed forward (towards the barrels) the letter S is covered and the safety is disengaged, thus the shotgun is ready to fire. The safety can be engaged with hammer decocked or cocked.
