Team Beretta Shooters Dominate at 2018 World English Sporting Clays Championship

Team Beretta shooters achieved podium honors in all four
events at last week’s 2018 World English Sporting Clays Championship at the E.J. Churchill Shooting Grounds in London, England. 
 
The members of Team Beretta in attendance at this international event included Diane Sorantino, Dominic Gross, Desirae Edmunds, Jared Greenwood, Anthony Matarese, and Zachary Kienbaum. 
 
Sorantino, Team Beretta captain, secured two ladies world championship honors during this week-long event. She won her first ladies high gun world champion title during the FITASC event with a score of 88 targets, besting her nearest competitor by 11 targets. 
 
Sorantino, who shoots with a Beretta A400 Xcel, also achieved ladies world champion honors in the main English Sporting Clay event with a score of 162 targets, earning her the fourth World English champion title in her superb career. 
 
Gross, a junior team member, also achieved two junior world champion honors in the Sportrap and Preliminary events. During the Sportrap event, he secured a score of 88 out of 100 targets, which separated him from the second-place winner by only one target. 
 
Gross secured his second first-place win in the Preliminary event with a score of 92/100. 
 
Edmunds, shooting with a DT11 L, secured two category ladies champion honors (AAA High Gun and Ladies) in the Preliminary event with a score 95 out of 100 targets. 
 
Greenwood, another junior team member, achieved two junior third-place wins in the Sportrap and FITASC events with scores of 84/100 and 87/100, respectively.  This competition marked Greenwood’s first international debut as a member of Team Beretta.  
 
Matarese and Kienbaum competed as a part of Team USA  and brought home the Blaser Inter-Continental Trophy after a close competition with the host team. 
 
Our team members also achieved three second-place wins as a part of the Team USA  Ladies, Junior, and Open teams during the CPSA main event. 
 
The team's season will continue with the upcoming World FITASC Sporting Championships in France from July 12-July 15 and the South Central Regional in OK from July 25-29.
