The DT11 is Beretta’s top-of-the-line competition shotgun, used by the world’s absolute best clay shooters. It is built around a vault-tough cross-bolt action, a whole 3mm wider than its predecessor’s (the DT10) and therefore stronger and even more durable. DT11 Trident Beretta. Valerio Luchini shots with Dt11 Beretta.

Interview

What's your favourite shotgun?
My favourite is the Beretta DT11 over-and-under, which I am currently using.

Why do you prefer this specific model?
I prefer it to all the others I have used until now because it is a shotgun with great finishings and made of high quality materials. It gives me a sense of reliability on the range that I have never experienced before.

Who is your favourite shooter?
In this sport every shooter has his or her own characteristics and technique which has been fine tuned through years of experience. There are great shooters who have managed to reach a very high level of technique and one day I would like to shoot using their same technique and determination.

Who inspired you to shoot?
My father inspired me to take part in this sport. Since I was very young, he used to take me with him to the shooting ranges because he was also an amateur shooter and enthusiast.

What's your best shooting story?
I don't really have a particular story to tell. I think that in every competition that you are a part of there are lovely memories and sentimental moments. So in the end, every competition is important in itself.

Which is your favourite shooting range?
My favourite shooting range in the one in Granada, Spain, where in 2007 I won the bronze medal at the European Championship.

How old were you when you held a shotgun for the first time?
I was very young when I first held a shotgun. I remember my father gave me a caliber 32 shotgun that broke during a hunting course competition. I shot 2 rounds together and the recoil make me fall back. This caused all the shooters in the range to start laughing. Now when I tell the story I also laugh, but at the time, I was stunned!

What are your goals and plans for the future?
One of my objectives is to constantly improve my technique and above all my performance, in order to receive the Olympic Charter and take part in the games as soon as possible.

What advice can you give others who are inspired by you?
The only piece of advice that I would give to whoever wants to take part in the sport of shooting is to make sure you have a lot of passion for it. In the end this is what helps you to reach the most sought-after and above all, difficult goals.
