In a stunning new design that could only be born of 500 years of experience, combined with the very best modern technology, the SV10 is as innovative as it is classical. It begins with the design of the receiver. The eyes are drawn immediately to the sideplates that stand out from the sides in an arrow-head shape. Yet at the core of this design is Beretta’s traditional locking system with trapezoidal shoulders and double longitudinal locking lugs.

The new, larger shapes of the monobloc’s locking shoulders—and their corresponding seats on the receiver—are not only better integrated into the design of the sideplates, but also improve the efficiency of the lock-up.

GMK Ltd’s Accuracy Insight magazine has been running for over twenty years. 2009 sees the magazine have a face lift!

For many years the company’s brochure has included updates, events, new products and price lists. This year’s brochure will not only include all of this, but it will also include detailed product information on the company’s shotgun, rifle, airgun and optic brands. Previously this information could only be found in each of the company’s supplier brochures, which often included many international products that were not suitable for the UK market.

This new brochure aims to be a ‘one stop shop’ for both consumers and retailers. The brochure will allow customers to understand and see the full breath of GMK Ltd’s range, with full product information and specification tables, and of course essential information on events, new products and company news. The brochure aims to be a valuable aid to both consumers and retailers.

The biggest clay shooting competition of the year, so far!

The 23^rd anniversary of the Beretta World Sporting Championships saw a record breaking 938 Beretta Shooters, from across the UK, coming together for a weekend of clay shooting. This extraordinary entry number makes this the biggest Beretta World in the 20+ year history of the event. Not a bad achievement given the current economic climate. The fantastic prize fund of over £21,000 included Breitling watches, Beretta Guns and Eley Cartridges. The shoot took place in the fabulous setting of Meon Springs Fly Fishery near Petersfield, Hampshire from Friday 3^rd to Sunday 5th July.

Shooters were blessed with glorious weather almost all weekend. The top two shooters from each day qualified for the six man final on Sunday afternoon. Friday saw Jason Fulcher 113/120 and Paul Jolly 110/120 qualify, Saturday John Lee 110/120 and Leslie Sperling 109/120 and Sunday Richard Faulds 112/120 and Nathan Dudley 115/150.

The 30-bird final started at approximately 4.30pm with each of the above mentioned shooters. The shoot-off was extremely close with only two targets separating the top five shooters. John Lee 22/30 and Richard Faulds 22/30 tied for first place and Jason Fulcher 21/30 and Leslie Sperling 21/30 tied for Bronze. Paul Jolly shot 13/30 and Nathan Dudley 20/30 were both eliminated. A further 12 targets were shot by the remaining four shooters to decide Gold, Silver and Bronze. John Lee shot 10/12 to claim the High Gun position, closely followed by Richard Faulds with 9/12 who claimed Silver. Bronze position was won by Leslie Sperling who shot 9/12, three shots more than his rival Jason Fulcher 6/12.

The 120 targets course shot over 15 stands offered variety and challenge for all. There were excellent scores in all the classes including Ladies which was won by Cheryl Hall, 106/120, Juniors where Philip Gray 108/120 picked up the honors and Veterans, where Brian Hodges won with a score of 101/120.

‘Best New Shotgun’ was won by the now legendary Beretta SV10 Perennia.
Most new shotguns that enter the market simply feature cosmetic amendments to a current model. This is what sets the new Beretta SV10 Perennia aside from the rest. The model is a completely new design that introduces innovative patented technology, which has truly redefined the over and under category.

Second place was won by the Beretta UGB25 Xcel.
The UGB25 Xcel is the world’s first competition specification, break-barrel, semi-automatic shotgun. For many years, the use of a semi-automatic shotgun for clay shooting has been employed cautiously. Although semi-automatics have significant benefits, such as low recoil, they cannot be broken open like over and under shotguns and therefore not deemed as safe. Beretta’s creation of the UGB25 Xcel has solved this problem and for this reason, among others, it is set to revolutionize the use of a semi-automatic system when clay shooting.

ALL PISTOLS TO BE BUILT BY U.S. WORKERS IN MARYLAND

GARDONE VALTROMPIA (January, 2009) – Beretta announced that the US subsidiary Beretta U.S.A. Corp. has been awarded with with a U.S. Army contract to provide up to 450,000 Beretta Model 92FS pistols to U.S. military customers. The total value of the contract, if all pistol quantities and associated spare parts are ordered, is $220 million. Delivery of pistols against the contract has already begun.

Ugo Gussalli Beretta, President of Beretta U.S.A. “It is clear that the Beretta 9mm pistol still sets the standard for military users throughout the world.”
