92 FUSION DLC
The unique 92FS Fusion DLC handgun embodies an unprecedent take of the glorious 92 family by combining the most modern technologies available on the market with the craftsmanship that made Beretta world famous.
A unique masterpiece featuring a special DLC (Diamond-like Carbon) coating, providing not only a contemporary look and feel, but also superior resistance to ageing, corrosion and scratches. A true modern classic, featuring custom handmade ebony wood grips with mother-of-pearl inserts, reproducing the initials of the owner and the crest of his family.
Compared to military standards that require an H + L of a maximum of 160mm, the Fusion pistol H + L sit between 70 and 80mm – the result of a careful barrel selection finishing. The Fusion barrel is entirely made of steel and has an increased barrel area to host hand-worked inserts. A hyper-technologic dress for the icon of the pistol world, an exclusive piece of engineered art.
DIAMOND LIKE CARBON
The DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating is a thin film of amorphous carbon which, in contact with certain materials such as steel, is capable of transferring many of the beneficial properties commonly associated with natural diamonds, namely hardness and resistance to ageing, rust, impacts, scratches and chemical substances such as alkaline or acid solutions. Already used in various technologically advanced sectors such as the automotive, medical and racing industries, DLC is today the most durable, innovative and ecological coating that Beretta can apply to its products. Its shiny, reflective black appearance transforms any product into a modern, contemporary design object, capable of transforming itself according to the objects it is next to.
DLC coating doesn’t involve the use of solvents or dangerous substances, being thus non-toxic and environmentally neutral. DLC is currently being studied by Beretta as a viable replacement for barrels chroming, as a more environmentally friendly and sustainable option for greater product durability.
