THE CHAMPION OF 5 CONTINENTS

Five gold medals at five different Olympic Games, plus countless results at major international competitions. Considered by many shooters to be the finest and best performing competition rifle ever made. Made entirely by hand in the Pietro Beretta Custom Atelier in Gardone Val Trompia.

A CLASSY SPORTSMAN

The slender-profile receiver improves aiming and branding. The side-mounted batteries, obtained through hyper-controlled manufacturing processes, are detachable on request, simple, reliable and renowned for their fast response time and clean shots.

To minimise latch stress, the transverse dowel acts on the tenons of the Monobloc positioned at the height of the upper barrel. The locking straps are interchangeable.

The profile of the Steelium Pro barrel features an elongated triple cone up to 450 mm (in a 76 cm barrel). An essential ally for those who want to compete at the highest level: it is no coincidence that Steelium Pro barrels are an indispensable element of the most successful shooting platform ever, the DT11.

CUSTOMISED ENGRAVINGS

The Beretta SO5 rifle already includes burin engraving by the Pietro Beretta team of engravers, who have been practising and handing down the engraving tradition in the world's oldest arms factory for decades.

From the most classic English style to the most modern floral ornaments, from the most evocative hunting scenes to portraits or landscapes, from mirror polishing to the most contemporary surface treatments, the metal jacket of a PB Selection rifle can be decorated with any subject using the four basic techniques of engraving: the classic point and hammer, the burin for shadows and shading, gold and other precious metal transfers, and enamels in various colours. Beretta engravers can devote up to 1,000 hours or more to realising the most important projects.

CUSTOMISED BRIEFCASE

The cases intended to hold these works of art are handcrafted in black-grained premium leather on an oak frame with brass corners. An ebony cleaning kit completes the equipment.

Each PB Selection case is created in the Atelier in Gardone Val Trompia, Italy, in the same place where the gun is designed, engraved, finished and assembled. Here, Pietro Beretta's Italian craftsmen build each custom-made case from scratch, from the wooden frame to the application of the inner and outer fabric, from the stitching to the pyrography and painting.

UPPER WOODS

The pistol grip stock and fore-end have an anatomical shape and are constructed and sized by hand according to the shooter's measurements. Premium class 4 European walnut woods are selected to ensure maximum performance and the unmistakable SO5 look. All woods destined for the stocks of PB Selection rifles undergo scrupulous evaluation and quality control, both by our expert gunsmiths, who in Valle Trompia inherit centuries of knowledge of raw materials, and by the most technologically advanced machinery.

Through several hours of manual work, the blanks are transformed to the shooter's shoulder measurements and slinging style. Knurling machines take care of defining the grip notches of the gun and fore-end with different types of passes, while the natural or polished wood finish is applied by hand, up to 80 coats (two coats of oil per day for 40 days) if Tru-Oil® is chosen.
