It took us one year of reasearch in 1981, the help of 164 chambers of commerce and 25 ambassy commercial attachés in order to get in touch with 174 companies but in fact only 30 were able to meet our criteria. These companies represent more than 86 centuries of existence!

We can certainly affirm that it is the most private club in the world.

Why Henoch?

It comes from the Bible and from Marie-Brizard, the company which had the idea of creating this association of bicentanary companies still managed by the founder’s descendants. Henoch was a patriarch before the flood, who lived for 365 years. He was a perfect figure, who did not die but was taken up into heaven. What a symbol for an association!

Objectives of the Association

Prove that tradition and dynamism can be allies. Create good relationship and sincere friendships among French and foreign companies which meet four criteria: age (a minimum age of 200 years), descendants (one member of the founder must still manage the company or be member of the board), family (the family must be owner of the company or the principal majority share-holders), dynamism (presenting a good balance sheet and being up to date) prove that tradition and dynamism can be allies.

“We reunite 150 centuries of existence looking towards the future”
