Team Beretta Shooters Dominate at 2019 World English Sporting Championship

Team Beretta shooters recently achieved 15 podium honors at the 2019 World English Sporting Championship hosted at Northbrook Sports Club in Hainesville, IL. 
Team Beretta members in attendance at this competition included Joseph Fanizzi, Desirae Edmunds, Diane Sorantino, Dominic Gross, Zachary Kienbaum, Meagan Harrington, and Anthony Matarese.  
Fanizzi, a 16-year-old team member shooting with an A400 Xcel Sporting Black Edition, outperformed many of the senior competitors and achieved a runner-up podium finish in the main event with a score of 178 out of 200 targets, plus hit 23 out of 25 targets thrown during the Super Final. This competition marks his third international appearance as a part of Team Beretta and his third consecutive international medal with a champion podium honors in the junior division at the 2019 British Grand Prix FITASC Sporting Championship and the 2019 World FITASC Championship. 
Fanizzi topped the podium as the White Flyer All-Around HOA Champion with a combined score of 557/600 targets and achieved an additional gold medal as a member of the junior USA team. Fanizzi also brought home two more champion podium honors and a runner-up title in the FITASC, preliminary, and 5 Stand events with scores of 189/200, 97/100, and 93/100, respectively. 
Edmunds, who shoots with a Beretta DT11 L, secured a champion podium honor in the ladies FITASC event with a score of 181 out of 200 targets. 
Sorantino,Team Beretta captain, achieved a ladies runner-up podium honor in the main event with a score of 155 out of 200 targets as well as additional runner-up and third-place podium honors in the preliminary and FITASC events with scores of 89/100 and 178/200, respectively. 
Sorantino and Edmunds also topped the podium as a part of the ladies USA team for a combined score of 444 out of 600 targets.  
Gross brought home two third-place podium honors in the junior 5 Stand and preliminary events with a score of 92/100 and 95/100, respectively. 
Kienbaum, who shoots with a standard Beretta DT11, topped the podium as a member of the senior USA team with a combined score of 849/1000 targets. 
Harrington, who competes with a Beretta 692 Black, won a third-place podium honor in the 5 Stand event with a score of 86 targets out of 100. 
Matarese, Kienbaum, Sorantino, and Edmunds competed in the Guinness Book of World Records competition hosted at this year’s World English Championship to set the record for the father distance to shoot a clay pigeon target. During the second day of competition, Matarese was successful at hitting a target at 85 yards, but the ultimate record holder was a member of the Italian national team. Silvana Mangano, who competes with a Beretta 692 Gold, set the world record at 105 yards. 
Team Beretta shooters will continue their season at the upcoming 2019 Northeast Regionals held at Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, OH from September 4-8.
