Jessica Rossi

Beretta Trap Shooter

Hi everyone, I'm Jessica Rossi and I have been an Olympic Trap shooter since 2001. I was born on 7 January 1992 in Cento, and currently I train with my Beretta DT11 at the Tiro a Volo Giorgio Rosatti in Ponso. I'm an athlete in the Fiamme Oro Sports Group.

Originally from Rezzano in Emilia, a small district of Cento, Jessica Rossi moved to Crevalcore in the province of Bologna at the age of 4. Since she was not allowed to hold a gun license until the age of 18, Jessica's mother got a license for herself, even though she had never shot in her life, so that her daughter could use it and become the champion we know today.
She made her first appearance on the international ISSF scene in 2007, taking part both in the European Championship in Granada, where she came fifth, and the World Championship in Nicosia, where she won gold while still a junior.
In 2009, at only 17, she won the Italian Championship, the European Championship, and the World Championship and she also won 2 silver medals in the World Cup.
On 19 April 2012 she was awarded the Gold Collar for Sporting Merit by the Italian National Olympic Committee.
In the same year, she took part in the Olympic Games in London, where she made it through the qualifiers shooting 75 out of 75 targets, and she won the final with 24 out of 25 targets, setting a new World and Olympic record. She dedicated her Olympic win to those affected by the earthquake in Emilia Romagna.
Still in 2012, she was a member of the Miss Italia judging panel.
In February 2013, she was a guest at the second night of the Sanremo Music Festival. In the same year she won the Mediterranean Games, the European Championship and the World Championship.
She won the highly sought after Sports Person of the Year award from the Gazzetta dello Sport. She was also nominated Athlete of the Year for 2013 by the ISSF.
On 17 January 2014 she was the guest of honour at the All Star Night event held by Gazzetta dello Sport, together with Tania Cagnotto, Federica Pellegrini and Elisa di Francisca.
Her sporting CV currently boasts 1 Olympic gold; 3 golds and 1 bronze World Championship medal; 1 gold and 2 silvers in the final for the World Cup; 2 golds, 4 silvers and 1 bronze medal in the World Cup; 2 golds and 1 silver in the European Championships.
She is engaged and lives together with Italian National team shooter, Mauro De Filippis.
She has a rabbit named Cocco.

What Does she bring on shooting Range?

The Shotgun

The DT11 is Beretta’s top-of-the-line competition shotgun, used by the world’s absolute best clay shooters. It is built around a vault-tough cross-bolt action, a whole 3mm wider than its predecessor’s (the DT10) and therefore stronger and even more durable. DT11 Trident Beretta. Jessica Rossi shots with Dt11 Beretta.
