To further reduce weight, the cavity inside the stock has been increased: this allowed a weight saving of 129 grams compared to a classic Beretta hunting shotgun.

The pistol grip stock and forend are made of selected grade 2.5 walnut, with an oil finish that allows easy restoration in case of scratches or damage from particularly demanding use.

The stock is available with 35/55 drop (also for left-handed shooters) or in the Vittoria version, with 35/45/55 drop.

In addition to grade, the woods are selected according to weight and density.

Stock and forend feature fine checkering for improved grip.

Today Ultraleggero is also available in a version featuring Kick-Off® Plus.

This recoil reduction system consists of two elastomer dampers, positioned near the rubber insert and fitted with return springs, which act effectively on the first recoil peak, reducing perceived recoil by up to 40%. The B-Steady® system divides the stock into two sections: comb and pistol grip. The recoil absorption point is positioned forward, integral with the pistol grip, which is free to move rearward while leaving the comb stable and preventing the annoying sliding of the cheekpiece against the shooter’s face. The face remains still and perfectly supported on the comb, without ever losing the sight line.

Special technopolymer inserts have been developed for the hollowed-out areas of the receiver. Their design reinterprets the look of floral engraving through a cutting-edge technology that creates special angles on the surface, simulating the light-reflection effect typical of steel engravings.

This creates a pleasing effect on the floral pattern and on the name “Ultraleggero”, which appear and disappear as the receiver is rotated in the light. This aesthetic detail, combined with the matte black finish of the receiver and the glossy black hinge pins, unmistakably defines the Ultraleggero.

The Silver Aluminum version enhances the Ultraleggero Silver’s distinctive steel receiver, embellished with Nistan finish and floral pattern, with two hand-finished nickel-plated aluminum side plates featuring an elegant hunting-scene engraving.

The receiver of the classic Beretta over-and-under is universally recognized for its slim and elegant shape. Derived from the 690 series, the Ultraleggero receiver is no exception: it features the proven locking system with the iconic trapezoidal shoulders and dual conical locking lugs, but introduces an extraordinary innovation in structure and weight reduction.

After extensive studies and field testing, the sides and bottom of the receiver were hollowed out, leaving only the amount of metal actually required to guarantee Beretta’s traditional reliability and resistance to repeated firing with any type of cartridge, including magnum loads. This makes Ultraleggero remarkably lighter without compromising robustness. It is a major innovation, comparable in architecture to the introduction of reinforced concrete or, in cycling and motorsports, to the adoption of carbon-fiber frames.

The cross-piece is derived from the new system adopted on the 694, but in this case, to keep weight down, it has been made of aluminum (for 12 gauge). With this cross-piece, the shotgun always provides an excellent opening feel thanks to the revised geometries and the new locking shoulder. The forend attachment system has also been redesigned and consists of a forward-positioned piston pin, separate from the cross-piece, with a self-adjusting button over time.

For 20 gauge, however, the cross-piece remains in steel.

Ultraleggero features the renowned Steelium barrels, made from Beretta tri-alloy steel and available in 61 cm, 66 cm, 71 cm and 76 cm lengths, characterized by deep drilling, cold hammer forging and vacuum stress relieving.

Their special geometry, with an 80 mm double forcing cone, is designed to deliver outstanding performance and consistently dense, uniform patterns with any type of ammunition, while also reducing recoil and muzzle rise.

The solid 6x6 top rib features carefully executed anti-glare checkering and a steel bead sight, while the side ribs have been eliminated, leaving only two spacers: one at the muzzle and one under the forend.
