The finest examples of Italian manufacturing and the “Made in Italy” brand: long-established companies

Fabbrica d’armi Pietro Beretta S.p.A., on the occasion of its 500th anniversary

Five centuries of industrial history, Italian craftsmanship, and family continuity now take on a new symbolic form of celebration: a stamp.

At the Salone degli Arazzi in Palazzo Piacentini, headquarters of the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy in Rome, the commemorative stamp dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta was presented as part of the philatelic series “The Excellence of Italy’s Productive System and Made in Italy.” This recognition places Beretta among the companies that have helped shape the industrial identity of the country over time.

The stamp design was created in-house and bears the signature of designer Marco Martelli. At its center stands the Beretta 500th anniversary logo, surrounded by a luminous graphic spark symbolizing energy, continuity, and innovation. In the background, the date 1526, the year the company was founded, appears in a calligraphic typeface specially created to celebrate this unique milestone.

Carlo Gussalli Beretta, representing the company’s sixteenth generation, took part in the ceremony and, on behalf of the Family and everyone working in the Group today, expressed heartfelt thanks to Fausta Bergamotto, Undersecretary of State with responsibility for Philately, as well as to Poste Italiane and the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato (IPZS).

The stamp dedicated to Beretta is part of an official issue by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, carries a B-rate postage value, and is printed by IPZS. A small object that contains a great story: that of a company which, from 1526 to the present day, has crossed the centuries while remaining true to its values, constantly balancing tradition and innovation.

“In such a significant year for its history, Beretta once again entrusts culture and the symbols of Made in Italy with telling the story of an industrial journey that continues to look toward the future without ever forgetting its roots,” explains Carlo Gussalli Beretta. “Our 500th anniversary is therefore a commitment to the future, not a celebration of the past. A commitment that naturally aligns with the mission of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy: to demonstrate that Italian industry can be solid, innovative, responsible, and competitive in global markets. On behalf of my family, my grandfather Ugo, my father Franco, my uncle Pietro, and the people who work at Beretta, I renew a pact of trust with the institutions and with the country: we will remain committed to generating industrial, human, and social value, bringing to the world a Made in Italy that looks to the future with vision and responsibility.”

Enthusiasts will be able to purchase this celebratory symbol on Beretta’s e-commerce portal in two versions: in addition to the limited-edition philatelic card, Beretta has created a presentation folder containing evocative images of the company spanning tradition and innovation, as well as:

  • 1 philatelic card
  • 1 cancelled postcard
  • 1 illustrated bulletin
  • 1 stamp
  • 1 personalized envelope
  • 1 block of four stamps

The cancelled postcard, dedicated to the commemorative stamp, features the engraved coin depicting the Villa of Gardone Val Trompia, a symbolic place in Beretta’s history.

The illustrated bulletin contains an article by Ugo, Pietro, and Franco Gussalli Beretta, retracing the values, history, and significance of this important company milestone.

The personalized envelope, postcard, and bulletin all bear the official postmark featuring the 500th anniversary logo and the stamp’s issue date, April 9, 2026, adding further philatelic and collectible value to the set.

Designed for collectors, enthusiasts, and admirers of the brand, this philatelic folder offers the opportunity to preserve an authentic fragment of Beretta’s history, bringing together tradition, identity, and institutional value in one exclusive edition.
