THE EXCEPTIONALLY STRONG and reliable Beretta low profile box lock action is enhanced with full side plates, hand-engraved with game scenes and signed by the engraver.

Stocks and fore-ends are cut from highly figured walnut, selected for grain and color. Hand-cut fine line checkering and a flawless finish complete the woodwork. Barrels are cold hammer forged for concentricity and strength, then polished and blued to a satin sheen.

BERETTA 687 EELL DIAMOND PIGEON SPORTING

Competition over-and-under merges classic styling and engraving with performance and reliability as no other gun ever has. The extraordinary strength and performance of Beretta’s competition over-and-under is incorporated into Beretta’s top-of-the-line 687 EELL Diamond Pigeon. Unique to the Sporting version is a Schnabel forend, mid-bead and rubber recoil pad.

BERETTA 687 EELL DIAMOND PIGEON FIELD

Over-and-under features a beautiful game scene and select grade 3 walnut. Matched with a hand fit wood butt pad and a traditional 6X6 rib and a semi-beavertail forend forend. Field guns include an Auto Safety and hand rubbed oil stock and forend with a gloss finish.

Diamond Pigeon
 

I bought this as a legacy shotgun to be handed down. It was purchased online as no dealers within a reasonable distance stocked them and so inspection prior to purchase wasn’t possible. I’ve had the gun for several weeks giving me the opportunity to hunt and shoot clays. It is the field model, it handles brilliantly on birds and patterns a perfect 50/50. My only fault is the wood to metal finish and while I understand this isn’t an expensive shotgun in the grand scheme it does come with a $5,000 premium over the Silver Pigeon III. I do enjoy the upgrade in wood and the added plates with a better engraving but I would have expected a little effort towards the fit around the wood to metal over the lesser models.
