OK, so I used Ballistol to clean and lubricate it before installation on my M9 which is basic. The takedown was very stiff to turn, but I lubricated it heavily, reinstalled the slide on the frame, and left it overnight. The next day it was easier to turn- still pretty stiff but better. Then I took it to the range and ran about 250 rounds of Federal automatch 40 grain through it without any problems. It functioned and shot great. When I removed the 22LR slide to put the regular slide back on the gun I noticed the takedown was much easier to turn- still a little stiff but I expect that to get better the more I use it. So for my M9, it seems the stiff takedown was cured by a good dose of lubrication and a shooting session with decent quality ammo. Very accurate and ran flawlessly so all five stars. Lube it like you love it.
